Question:

Do I need the rhino program to open this DVD ?

Answer:

No, this DVD is a data disk, so you open it with your computer just like any data disk. You will need to install a codex file to be able to play the avi files, the codex files are on the disk.

Question:

Does this video teach how to build a particular boat ?

Answer:

No, this video is only about the geometry for building boats, the rhino model that I use is a generic boat. I stay focused on developing geometry, I explain how to transfer geometry to the wood so it can be cut out but I do not teach the actual woodworking aspect of boat building.

Question:

I use some on line videos to learn different programs like photoshop and illustrator, the videos are very small and the quality isn’t very good. I’m wondering how good the quality of your video traditional boat geometry is and is it small like the clips you have on your web site ?

Answer:

The disk that I sell is dual layer and it is replicated, which means it is professionally manufactured and pressed from a glass master. The files are raw avi files, they have not been reformatted so they are very high quality. This video is recorded at a resolution of 1584 X 1056, so it does not degrade when you enlarge it. You can play it full screen on a twenty four inch monitor just fine.

Question:

I want to learn about lofting the way it was done traditionally working on the floor with battens. Looking at your web site, it looks like everything is based on using the rhino program, is this true?

Answer:

No, I make reference to working on the floor many times through out the video and explain what the difference would be compared to using the rhino program. All of the 2D geometry I teach in this video can be done full size working on the floor.
